Webkinz Next is a 3D massively multiplayer online (MMO) pet simulator and the modern successor to the original Webkinz franchise. Built by Ganz, it operates as a free-to-play game available across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
The game is entirely 3D and introduces entirely new mechanics to the franchise:
- Pet Families and "Sparking": Instead of just adopting individual pets, players can breed their pets in a feature called "Sparking" to create unique, multi-generational pet combinations.
- Item Portability: Players can link their Webkinz Next account to a Webkinz Classic account using the same username, allowing them to send certain items, currency, and rare Curio Shop items back and forth
- Creative Freedom: Unlike the classic grid-locked room designs, Next offers free-form placement for decorating, letting you place items anywhere in your house
- Quests and Season Passes: The game features season passes, gardening, cafe events, and 3D arcade games to keep players engaged and earning KinzCash
When you meet this larger than life pet, you'll say hip-hippo-hooray for the plush Webkinz Hippo! Each 8.5" plush Hippo comes with a secret code for an online avatar that comes to life in Webkinz, as well as its own special virtual item and food.
The Hippo's Lazy Nile River Ride is the perfect way to float the day away! And when it’s time for a snack, the Hippo loves munching on Grass Griddle Cakes—fresh from the savanna! When it's time to go home with a new pet, go big with the Hippo!
